My Spotify Playlist Archive
I started sorting my music when I was a kid. Arranging my AC/DC CDs before B.B. King, followed by Chuck Berry then Dick Dale, and so forth. Sort of like that scene from High Fidelity, where John Cusack sorts his records autobiographically after a breakup.
… It’s comforting.
Nowadays music streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and more offer more music than one can listen to in a lifetime.
This means that if you are always on the hunt for new music and genres to explore, some things can be lost or forgotten in the shuffle. I have made it my mission to catalog each song, artist, genre that I think could help score any of life’s unpredictable moments.
These are some of my favorite playlists I’ve made. Feel free to click on them and see the results of my playlist process.
And I love every moment of it. From creating the playlist art that I think speaks to the music to meticulously combining through my liked music to sort in these virtual bins. I created these playlists for myself but I am proud of my endeavor and am happy to share my categorical archives.
Here’s another one of my playlists. Layabout is full of 90’s alternative heavy hitters like Sonic Youth, Pavement, the Violent Femmes and many more.
